It's mid morning and Lance Grimes is in his office at Grimes Incorporated working on his computer when there's a knock on the door.
Lance: Come in! (Rosamond Tucker opens the door) Rosie! I'm so glad to see you.
Rosamond: Hi Lance, how's everything?
Lance: Things would be better if you were home with me. I miss you sweetheart and I love you. (He gets up and takes her into his arms)
Rosamond: I know, I miss you too. Eliza and I had a nice talk last night, and I ended up staying at her house.
Lance: I'm glad you two are becoming friends. It would have been much harder if Eliza was still trying to come between us. But I want you to come back to me.
Rosamond: Give it some time okay?
Lance: I hate waiting like this. Do you know how much I want to hold you and make love to you?
Rosamond: It feels wonderful to be needed and loved, but I have to head over to Cordelia's. That burglar tried to rob her last night.
Lance: Oh no! Is everything okay?
Rosamond: The police came over and did a report. Cordy interrupted him and he left his sack with some of her property in it and she might have seen the car he was driving in.
Lance: That's great news. Maybe he'll be caught.
Rosamond: I hope so. Um, do you have plans for lunch?
Lance: No. Are you asking me to lunch my beautiful lady?
Rosamond: I thought we could get together at Cordy's. Is that okay?
Lance: Well, I'd rather do something a little more intimate, but as long as I'm with you it's fine.
Rosamond: Okay, I'll see you this afternoon then. I'll be at the house. Goodbye Lance. (Begins to walk off)
Lance: Wait Rosie---
Rosamond: What is it?
Lance pulls her close and kisses her passionately, then buries his face in her neck.
Lance (breathlessly): I love you angel. Don't ever forget that.
Rosamond: I won't. I love you too Lance. Just be patient. (She kisses him back and leaves)
Lance goes to the window and stares out at the bright blue sky and sighs.
Lance: I can't lose her, not now, not ever. Whatever troubles she has, I hope she works them out soon.
Eliza Braxton is changing Melissa's diaper in the nursery when the phone rings. She goes to the nightstand to answer it.
Eliza: Hello. (No answer) Hello?
There's more silence, then a man finally speaks up.
Man: Hello Eliza.
Eliza almost drops the phone because she recognizes the voice at the other end. It's Drennen Talbot.
Eliza: Uh, uh, Drennen how are you?
Drennen: You sound suprised to hear my voice.
Eliza: Well um, yes I am. After what happened between us at Christmas, I didn't think I'd hear from you again.
Drennen: I'm a lot better now since the holidays---since that awful night at the TV station. I'm staying with my brother Mitchell in Indiana, and I'm in therapy. I'm taking it one day at a time. But the reason I called is because you had to have had your baby, and I was wondering if you did.
Eliza: Yes. I had her March 6th. Her name is Melissa.
Drennen: Congratulations Eliza. I'm sure she's very beautiful.
Eliza: She is Drennen.
Drennen: I'm going to go now. Take care of yourself okay?
Eliza: I will. Goodbye, Drennen. (Hangs up phone) Oh dear Lord. What else is going to happen?
Loretta Sherwood is at the park sitting on a bench and reading. Larry and Dorothy offered to run the diner, giving her a rare day off. As Loretta is enjoying the beautiful spring morning, Victor Pearce approaches her and sits down next to her.
Victor: Hi Loretta. It's a gorgeous day isn't it?
Loretta: Yes it is.
Victor: I really never see you in town anymore.
Loretta: That's because I'm always at the diner. When Patrick was still alive, I had more time to myself.
Victor: Patrick was a lucky man to have you for a wife Loretta. You were quite a looker back then. You still are now.
Loretta: Victor---
Victor: I always liked you Loretta. You were such a devoted wife and mother. I was so jealous of Patrick. You know my wife up and left me and Brody. And whenever I saw you, I always thought how nice it would be to have someone like you. (Moves closer to her)
Loretta: You're making uncomfortable Victor with this talk.
Victor: Come on Loretta, we're both adults and we're single. You've been alone for too long. It's time you remember what a man feels like. (He begins grabbing her)
Loretta: Stop it Victor! (She pushes him off and stands up) I'm not interested in you like that, and I don't want a man right now. If you ever touch me again, I'm calling the police! (She runs away from him)
Victor: This is far from over my dear. Very far from over...
Next on come nightfall:
Paul and Tess' romantic afternoon is interrupted by a frightened Loretta and Larry.
At Cordelia and Everett's, Lance and Rosamond give into their feelings. Will they finally reunite?
While visiting Eliza and Melissa, Janet has a disturbing flashback.
