At Breckenridge Memorial Hospital, a nurse and a doctor are standing inside a hospital room on the fourth floor. They are looking at Janet MacDonald, who is lying in bed in a deep sleep.
"She must have taken her coworker's death pretty hard," the doctor said softly. "Luckily we were able to pump those sleeping pills out of her system before they could do any major brain damage."
"I'll take good care of her," the nurse replied. The two walk out of the room.
"By the way, how's your other patient doing?" the nurse asks. "The young man who got stabbed by his father." She shudders. "How scary."
"He's doing better and better, and he should be released tomorrow," the doctor said. "Funny thing is, the police were here tonight wanting to talk to him, but he was sleeping and then they got the call to come to the TV station. They probably wanted to ask him about why his own father would stab him."
Janet is starting to come out of her sleep. She slowly opens her eyes and closes them again, the soft lights in her room hurting her eyes. She tosses her head, trying to figure out where she is. When she realizes she's in a hospital room, her eyes widen.
"Oh God!" she exclaims with a whisper. "What have I done?"
