I am one of the last of my kind, Banshee.
Warrior of Ghost.
Any who see me fear me.
I strike fear into the hearts of human and pokemon.
So I am lonely.
The Warriors are my friends, but they don't understand.
They don't understand what it's like to be so rare and so feared.
My territory consists of Indigo Island.
It is here I see many trainers.
Trainers who like to think their pokemon are ready.
I've never belonged to anyone, and it will remain that way for as long as I
exist.
And believe me that is a long time.
We Ghost pokemon can't die, we simply fade out.
Cross over if you will.
I remember one time when I was younger a human tried to capture me.
The fool didn't realize I was far more powerful than his Sandslash and
Alakazam combined.
Since then he's continually tried to capture me.
He will never learn that Warriors can't be caught.
Through the years I've met many powerful pokemon.
But no pokemon shall ever match the power of the one that we met a
decade ago.
He's so strong, his Psychic power leaks from him like water through a
sieve.
The Warrior of Psychic and I had almost cringed.
He emits an aura of . . . power, confidence.
It would make anyone sit up and take notice.
But, like the Warrior of Fire, the weights on his soul are many.
I never realized one could get so . . . attached to a human from just one
meeting.
But he did.
The Warrior of Fire seeks revenge, seeking out the Rocket that killed his
trainer.
He hasn't let his rage go.
I've never seen him smile, laugh or just have fun.
Much like Mewtwo.
One day however, after the death of the old Warrior of Rock we had a
meeting to honour his memory.
The Warrior of Ground wasn't herself that day.
I'm not really sure how to explain it, she simply wasn't herself.
Personally I thought she had lost it, allowing one of her children to go
with a human she barely knows!
That's not like her at all.
But . . . something in her heart had changed.
I'm not sure, but I think that human boy somehow got past her hatred for
humans and wormed his way right into her heart.
A place reserved for her Children alone.
Thinking back, I recall another unforgettable day.
The day the Warrior of Fire arrived for our meeting with a wistful smile
on his face.
Naturally we were all shocked.
He looked like he'd just seen his trainer and totally annihilated all the
Rockets in the world.
It wasn't until we heard his tale that I realized I had been fairly close to
the truth in my first assumption.
His next words blew us away.
We were all shocked to the core, how could this be possible?!
In this case, it's simply better to try not to understand the workings of
magic.
I glanced at the Warrior of Dragon, he seemed to understand the
fascination with this human boy.
As intelligent as I am, I still didn't understand.
Why was he so special?
Of course I knew why he was special to the Warrior of Fire and the
Warrior of Water.
But why the others?
Especially Mewtwo?
He approaches Indigo Island as we speak. The Warrior of Psychic
observed.
I nodded, the island was my territory.
The meeting was dismissed by the Eldest, as I leave she stops me.
Yes Elder?
I know you don't understand why we must all look out for the boy.
When you do meet him, you'll understand. She told me.
My tail twitched when I looked into her eyes.
I nodded just before we were all teleported back to out territories.
All the humans are hiding from me.
They fear me.
For once I would like to meet someone who isn't afraid of me.
Someone who would talk to me.
I sense two pokemon off to the side, they're nervous.
Greetings Warrior of Ghost.
I looked down and saw a Charmeleon, he seemed totally at ease.
For the first time in a while I give a genuine smile.
He tells me he's come to take the two pokemon back to their trainer.
Once I assured the two in the shadows one began to approach, when I
saw him I bit back a gasp.
By the Ghost God he was a handsome Banshee!
Dimly I heard Charmeleon gently chide the other shadow, my eyes
widened when the nervous Psychic stepped out, inner toes clicking
anxiously.
What in the name of the God of Ghost is a Raptor doing all the way over
here?
Makaar explained the situation with Charmeleon and his trainer Satoshi, I
had to bite back a laugh when I saw Raptor pick up his trainer and hug
him.
Oh my these pokemon are amusing!
Suddenly I remember the message the Warrior of Fire wanted me to
deliver to Satoshi.
So I deliver it.
And send the poor boy into a state of shock.
Perhaps I should have waited until after the League . . .
I wave good bye to my new friends with a lightened heart.
Now I understand what the Warrior of Ground meant when she said we
all had to look out for him.
He's special, he needs to be protected.
I am one of the last of my kind, Banshee.
Warrior of Ghost.
I sense that one day, Satoshi will be a hero.
And perhaps draw trainers and pokemon even closer than before.
