Authors Notes: Here I am again and all ready for season 2 of this fic for
the few of you that'll probably come banging on my door to demand I
finish this already.
As usual, Feedback would be greatly appreciated! And so would
suggestions for the final chapter of my fic Forever. I kinda got writers
block on that one.

Ketchum: The Journey Continues
Season 2

Deja-Vu - Part 2
Chapter 13

My eyes opened as I finished the throwing motion that had sent my alarm
clock out the window.
One of these days I'll have to nail the clock to the bedside table so I don't
throw it out in the morning.
Musashi and Julie were already up and about, when did Julie get back last
night?
I stumbled over to the window to see if the clock was recoverable. But I
paused, I had this weird feeling I shouldn't look outside or open the
window, but I did.
"Mr. Ketchum where did Raptor come from?!"
"Is Raptor dangerous?!"
"How are you able to control it?!"
Quickly I shut the windows and the curtains, damn. It looks like
Raptor'll have to teleport us to the stadiums for our third battles. I had
the Grass Field today, Musashi had the Ice Field.
"Methinks you discovered the reporters outside." Julie grinned wryly as
she leaned against the door frame.
"Methinks you could've at least warned me." I sighed as I trudged to the
kitchen.
Why did I have the feeling we've said that before? I shrugged it off with
my sleep muddled brain.
"Satoshi, how are we going to get out of here? The three of us have
battles today!" Musashi asked as I sat down at the table. I blinked at her
sleepily.
"Raptor's going to teleport us . . ."  I yawned before eating.  I looked
down at my breakfast, didn't we have this yesterday?
"What?!"
"How do you think Inferno, Raptor and I escaped the Rock field the
other day? Raptor teleported us here." She blinked before she smiled in
relief that she didn't have to face the mob outside.
Raptor was having fun teasing them, he'd stick his head in front of the
window and jerking it back before they had a chance to snap a picture.
Then he picked up his favourite chewing bone and stepped in front of the
window. He gave a big show of snarling and snapping at them before
putting the bone in his mouth and breaking it. The reporters stepped back
nervously.
Musashi, Julie, Inferno and I laughed at his antics. Suddenly he began
acting all cute and playing with his ball. He sure had the media hounds
baffled now. But I could of swore he did that yesterday too . . .
Whoa, Deja-vu.
"Hey Raptor, the three of us need a lift to the Ice Field, Rock Field and
Grass Field."
He chirped. He knew where the Rock Field was, but not the other two. I
tried to fix their locations in my mind for him. I paused and looked at the
team I'd picked out, this guys pokemon were pretty strong, maybe I
should take my strongest too.
"Hang on a minute everyone, I'm going to change my team." I told them
as I flipped through my pokedex for my strongest pokemon.
"Inferno . . . Rare Beauty . . . Tochi and . . . Draco."  I mumbled as I
picked them out and attached their pokeballs to my belt.
"Why change your team now Satoshi?" Musashi asked.
"Dunno, just got a feeling I'll need my strongest."
Raptor smirked, I gave him an odd look. Then he teleported.
Raptor dropped off Musashi on the Ice Field before dropping off Julie
and then me. I didn't recall him into his pokeball so he could get me out
of here before the reporters got to us after the battle.
The officials up top understood my dilemma and let me carry him with
me.

"Good morning ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the Grass Field!
Today we have Satoshi on the Green side fielding Gyarados, Dragonair,
Golem and Charizard! On the Red side we have the strict disciplinary
A.J. fielding Beedrill, Raticate, Arcanine and Sandslash!"
A.J.? Yeah, I remember a story about him and that Sandslash.
Apparently both were a near unstoppable team.
Suddenly I was glad I brought my strongest today.
"The coin is in the air . . . Satoshi must send out his pokemon first!"
"I choose you, Tochi!"
"GOL!"
"And Satoshi starts out with Golem! A.J. sends out his Arcanine!"
The whip snapped, Arcanine launched into Agility. There wasn't much
Tochi could do with it going to fast.
Then I realized what A.J. was trying to do.
"Tochi! Don't look at Arcanine! It's trying to confuse you!"
(Right.) She said as she looked at something else. The whip cracked,
Arcanine stopped and howled.
A huge cyclone of water suddenly rose around Tochi, it was Dragon
Rage.
I wasn't too worried, Tochi could withstand several of Rare Beauty's
Water Mirror attacks.
"Arcanine uses Dragon Rage! Golem is finished now!"
"Tochi! Stone Golem!" I yelled, trying to carry my voice over the roar
of the water.
"GOLEM!" She shouted as she rolled out of the cyclone, only to be
followed by several smaller copies of her.
The golems all rolled at high speed toward Arcanine, distracting it. Then
they stood up and along with Tochi began using Rock Throw.
"Arcanine is unable to battle! What an amazing move by Golem! It
doesn't even have a scratch!"
I grinned inwardly to Charmeleon, Beedrill and Raticate wouldn't stand a
chance against Tochi, Sandslash however, might. But I knew A.J. would
save it for last. So I'd save Rare Beauty for last, Inferno was the
strongest. But he was at a disadvantage being a Fire Type against a
Ground type.
Then again, the rest of my pokemon did need the exercise.
"Tochi great job!  Return!"
"Return Arcanine, go, Beedrill!"
"I choose you, Draco! Hyper Beam!"
I sighed, too easy.
"Beedrill is unable to battle! Who will A.J. use against Satoshi's
pokemon?!"
"Return Beedrill."
"Excellent job Draco, Return."
"Go, Raticate!" His whip snapped the air.
"I choose you, Inferno!"

~~~~~~Inferno's POV~~~~~~
When I saw what I was fighting I gave Satoshi a look that said 'you're
kidding, right'.  Raticates were way too easy, except Chewy though.
He's one of the few that can actually give me a challenge.
The sound of a whip cracked the air, I jumped.  Raticate dropped on all
fours and dealt out a Quick Attack.
"Fire Blast!"
"Raticate is unable to battle!  Will Satoshi's Charizard be able to handle
Sandslash?  Or will Satoshi recall it and send out his fourth pokemon?"
"Inferno, you're staying in.  This Sandslash will be really tough, I might
need both you and Rare Beauty to take it out."  Satoshi told me, I nodded
in understanding.  If it might need both Rare Beauty and I to take it out
then there was no way I'd underestimate it.
"Go, Sandslash!"
I grimaced when I saw him, no offence meant but I think this Sandslash
was even stronger than the Warrior of Ground!
Oh yeah, I'd really have my hands full with this one.
The whip ripped the air and Sandslash dove underground, I took to the
air.
Warily I watched the ground, Musashi's Sandslash had done this to me
many times and trust me it hurt!
I hovered in one spot, the whip cracked again and I dodged the brown,
spiny ball trying to bring me down.
"Tail Slam!"  I swung around and whapped him hard with my tail,
sending him into the stands.
When I landed I looked toward him, he looked quite unhappy now.  It
seems he, in his and his trainer's arrogance had sorely underestimated
Satoshi and I.
The whip cracked at the same time Satoshi called for Slash.  I ducked his
Poison Sting and grabbed his front paws.
We were like that for awhile, each of us trying to gain leverage and cause
bodily harm to the other.
Satoshi saw the Flamethrower I had boiling in me before A.J. did.
"Now!"  He shouted.  I opened my mouth and let loose with the
Flamethrower that could melt rocks right in Sandslash's face.
He cried out in pain as I used Seismic toss as per Satoshi's orders.
Another snap of the whip and another call from Satoshi had us lunging
toward each other.
*Your strength is admirable Charizard.* Sandslash grunted as we once
again locked fists.
*As is yours, you would be an admirable challenge for the Warrior of
Ground.* I told him just before I tossed him into the air and prepared to
whack him with my tail.
To my surprise he bit my tail as he came down, I roared.  That hurt!
I snaked my head around and clamped onto his spiny back, ignoring the
pain of his quills.
Stalemate.
If he let go I'd toss him like a rag doll.  If I did he'd take a chunk out of
my tail.
So I bit down hard.
The pain was enough to make him let go and I tossed him across the field
where he skidded across the grass into his trainer's platform.
"Fire Claw!"
I brought down my arms, wincing at the movement.  Direct hit.
"Sandslash is down!  What an amazing battle that was folks!"
I gave a little bow to Sandslash, he had earned my respect.
"Inferno!"  I looked up and saw Satoshi running to me with Raptor not
far behind.  "Are you okay?  That was a really rough fight!  Oh jeez!
Look at your tail!  Nurse Joy's going to have a hard time fixing that up."
*I'm fine Satoshi.* I managed to get out before I stumbled.
"Yeah, sure you are."
"Hey, Satoshi."  We looked up and saw A.J. walking toward us.  "You're
very good, no one's lasted that long against my Sandslash for years."
"It was Inferno's doing, he did all the fighting."
They shook each other's hands while I leaned on Satoshi for support.
"So this is the famed Raptor I've heard about."
"Yeah, that's him.  I'd love to talk but I've got to get my pokemon to the
pokemon centre and avoid the reporters.  Raptor can teleport you with us
there."
He looked at the onrush of reporters and agreed.
I roared as Nurse Joy put the Peroxide on my tail.  No matter how
advanced technology has become they still couldn't find a way to take the
sting out of that stuff!
"Now now, I've got to make sure there's no infection.  Don't be such a
big baby."  She chided gently, I huffed up at the 'big baby' remark.
*I'm not a big baby!*  I snapped. *You put that Fire God forsaken stuff
on a wound like that and tell me it doesn't hurt!*
"Hmmm . . . I do suppose you have a point.  And it is good to openly
express pain."  She said as she gently wrapped the bandage around my
tail.
"There you go!"  She chirped.  "You can return to your trainer now.  Just
be careful of that injury and you'll be fine!"
*Thanks.* I said as I slid off the table and ambled toward the door.
When I saw the sight that greeted me I smiled.  Satoshi was curled up on
the couch with Musashi and both were fast asleep.
*I know what you did Raptor, I can't say I approve.* I blinked and
looked at Makaar.  What was he talking about?
<*I did it so father would be happy.*>
*I realize that, but the consequences of you interfering like that could've
been severe.*
<*But they weren't!  And father won!*>
I was unnoticed and totally confused.
*You should wait until you're mature enough to understand what I'm
trying to tell you and to understand what might've happened.*
<*But . . .!  Oooh!  How did you know anyway?*>
*I'm attuned to such things!  Remember I'm as old as Charmeleon!  I
forbid you to repeat what you did unless it's an extreme emergency!*
<*But Makaar . . .*>
*No 'buts' about it!*
<*Hmph!  Fine!*> Raptor pouted as he stormed toward Satoshi.
I blinked.
