Laura had just finished reading the Dear Laura letter from Stefan but did not want to believe what she had just read; Stefan was gone from her life forever.

Laura was walking along the docks, at midnight, with no clear destination in mind. She found herself standing at the water’s edge looking across the water at Spoon Island. Laura looked at the island and let out a long sigh. Stefan was gone and for the first time in 20 years, Laura was alone.

“Why didn’t I believe you, when you said you had nothing to do with Lucky’s death. I am such a fool,” Laura said out loud to know one in particular.

“Because Laura, you are ruled by your heart, not your mind,” a voice answered through the shadows.

Laura looked behind her into the darkness, “Stefan,” Laura said out loud, “Is that you?”

“Yes, it is my love,” Stefan said walking from the shadows into the light that was Laura.

Laura was numb and just stared at the man walking towards her.

Tears started running down from her eyes, she finally found her legs and ran into Stefan’s outstretched arms. Stefan engulfed Laura and felt the tears running down her face, onto his chest.

“Shh, Lasha, it is all right, I am here,” Stefan said taking his hand and stroking the back of her hair and back.

Laura pulled away and looked up into his eyes and knew everything was going to be all right, now that Stefan was back from the dead. All her dreams of a future with Stefan would now come true. He was alive and standing in front of her.

“Stefan, what is going on? You wrote me a goodbye letter, we all thought you were dead by Luke’s hands,” Laura said leading Stefan to the nearest bench.

Stefan sighed and knew he had to face the consequences of his actions. “Laura, I am sorry, I deceived and lied to you. I was lost without you and Nikolas in my life and I went a little crazy. After you locked me in that damn closet and turned your back on me, I went crazy and did so many things I now regret. Can you forgive me?” Stefan asked looking into Laura’s eyes, seeking her forgiveness.

Laura looked Stefan in the eye’s and knew he was telling her the truth. “How can I not forgive you, Stefan after everything I have done to you and Nikolas over the years. I would be the worlds biggest hypocrite, if I did not. I love you Stefan Cassadine and always will,” Laura said taking her hands and wrapping them around Stefan’s face, seeing tears pool within his eyes. The hole in her heart that was left by his absence was finally filled. She knew who she had been missing, it wasn’t Luke or Scotty, but it was the man in her arms.

“Lasha, there is so much I need to explain to you, but at this moment in time all I want to do is kiss you and tell you, I love you,” Stefan said bending down and kissing her softly. The moment Stefan’s lips touched Laura’s, he finally realized he found the home he had been yearning for, for years.

Laura woke with a start and looked around her darkened bedroom, realizing she was all alone. She felt such an emptiness and solitude inside of her, until she remembered the dream. It was a dream, it was all a dream, but was it? Laura searched her heart and realized Stefan was alive and knew one day, he would come back to her and their family. With a smile on her lips, she laid her head back down onto her pillow and closing her eyes, wanting to pick up, where her dream left off engulfed in the warm and loving arms of Stefan Cassadine.
