33 JOHN WRIGHT HEATH was born in North Carolina 1819 and 1843 married Nancy McClintock who died the following year. In 1846 he married Mary Kendall by whom four sons and four daughters were born. All are still living. John and Mary lived and raised their family on a farm in the old Mt. Zion neighborhood where he took an active part in every improvement for the good of the community. About 1867 he sold out and bought a farm near Indianapolis intending to go into the dairy business, but when he began business he found that he would have to peddle or deliver milk on Sunday. That settled the business with him and he sold out at a sacrifice and moved to Daleville, Ind. where he bought a tan yard. This did not prove a success and here his boys went to railroading. He sold out at Daleville and moved to Chesterfield west and bought a home and became station agent which position he held until the death of his wife 1886 after which his home was broken up and spent his time with his children. He was all his life an active supporter and worker in the Methodist Church. He was the only one of the five brothers who was not a member of the masonic order. He gave as his reason that he attended a masonic funeral in which they had a band and when the band was leaving the cemetery they played Yankee Doodle which disgusted him with that crowd. He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Laura T. Free, near Anderson, Ind. Sept. 30, 1903 age 84.
