32 RHODA BROWN, oldest daughter by the second marriage of James Tomlinson, was born in North Carolina and married John Brown. They lived two miles southeast of Yorktown, Ind. where she died, leaving no children.

32 ANNA E. McKIMMEY was born in N. C. and married Jessie McKimmey, a farmer who lived just north of the old log church where she died, leaving two daughters, Sarah and Mary. Old Uncle Jesse, as he was called, was a well read man and remembered what he read as he always read aloud. He was a very liberal supporter to the church, though a careless farmer in some respects. The crops and money seemed to always come his way. He never seemed in a hurry in either speech or action and worry seemed the last thing to enter his mind. After the death of his first wife he married Mary McCowan by whom two daughters were born, one dying before the age of maturity; the other maturing to the size of 300 pounds. They came with us to Iowa, it being the first trip for the old lady on the cars and she, 82 years old, became very sick for the first hour- and the size of her daughter Mrs. Gordy Smith attracted considerable attention on the train.
