Leave the morning early after you have spent a day or two in Base Camp and do a load carry up to Camp 1.  Be careful and hide your load or leave it with people you know as there has been quite a lot of thefts on the mountain.  I kid you not.  Fellow mountaineers now steal from each other.  People have had to go back to Base Camp on their summit bid as on their return they found that all their kit had been stolen.

It is a long day from Base Camp to Camp 1.  But once you get there it will be worth it with a nice hot drink and a beautiful sunset.  Take out your camera and start taking photos.

Spend a day and a night here to acclimatize before going to Camp 2.
