Geologic technical lead supporting new technology application. Efforts focused on improvement of reservoir characterization with application of 3D visualization tools (GOCAD, Voxelgeo). Assist in extraction of models for reservoir simulation (CHEARS, Frontsim). Support special projects as sour gas disposal and light gas development. Mentor new hire geologists.

Senior Staff Geologist Coalinga Asset Team- Bakersfield

Geologic Lead with the Coalinga Asset Team, working to maximize profitability from steamdrive project properties. Significant effort in reservoir characterization, incorporating seismic data in the analysis of flow bodies and heat movement. Resultant sequence model defined significant expansion opportunity for this 100 MMBO resource and explained historic poor performance areas. Supplied evaluation and economic analysis for acquisition of Texaco and Whittier acreage. Implemented thermal expansions leveraging pre-heating from adjacent drives to yield improved project performance. Application of horizontal producers in the pattern design gained a step improvement in production. Presented results in several technical forums.

Senior Staff Special Project Coordinator- Bakersfield


Team leader for special focus team chartered by the WBU Management team. Coordinated development of a process for capture of reserve additions by drilling statistical significant delineation tests. Process ranked opportunities by geologic risk, reserve size, and economic merit of Project NPV. Communicated Team progress and recommendations to management and Asset Teams. Resulted in ongoing Opportunity Portfolio drilling program jointly funded by Production and Exploration. Additionally, team member on successful application for Dept. of Energy funding for new technology applications in the Buena Vista Field. Main role was coordination of activity with consultant.

Sponsor of focus team reviewing opportunity for reserve additions in the Profit Center.

Supervisor for Development Geology group covering the Kern River, Coalinga and Rio Vista Districts. Supported implementation of infill drilling, property assessment, budget planning and seismic acquisition. Key program was the primary development of the Knight's Landing field, follow up drilling to the West Grimes field 3D survey and definition of the Van Sickle Island extension and proposal of the Kettleman Deep test.

Key program was valuation of marginal property, recommendation to waterflood the Fruitvale field, cyclic steam development in the Midway Sunset field and fracture stimulation in the Buena Vista Hills field.

Exploration Geologist- Concord


Supported exploration activity for the North Slope, Alaska Platform District. For Arctic OCS #89 sale assembled Tertiary stratigraphic maps incorporating outcrop, well and seismic data. Conducted a geologic and geophysical review of the offshore north of Prudhoe Bay (Gwyder, Husky, and Polar prospects). Analysis involved log correlation, section work, seismic mapping, velocity modeling and subcrop mapping. Represented Chevron on a Gwyder Bay Unit Seismic Structural mapping committee.

Area Development Geologist for activity in the North Slope area, Alaska. Geologic representative to the Arco operated Kuparuk River Unit and Conoco operated Milne Point Unit (supported primary development). Represented Chevron on equity mapping team for the Milne Point Unit. Supported activity in Cook Inlet fields.
