Deathknell for Catalonia (Quick) Descriptions

Areas

Catalonia: Village of fairly modern construction. The only industry is for processing the metal deposits. Said factory was shot up considerably in the fighting, and is now abaondoned. The homes are also damaged; many that formerly belonged to humans have been burned to the ground. Bodies lie strewn in the streets, horribly mauled and mutilated. The 'traitorous' Repliforce garrison has been nailed to the walls of their post, and the Sergeant in command has had her head lopped off and hung from the rafters.

Plains: This is the area through which the Reploids are marching. It was a battlefield some time ago, and is still not developed. See
Map of the Plains
for geography. Scale: one small square = 10 feet. Black squares = elevation of 50 feet (graduated). Gray squares = elevation of 100 feet (graduated).

El Sobrante: This is the target. It is a larger village; about 15,000 inhabitants (14,000 human, 1,000 Reploid). It is well-fortified with two squads of semi-seasoned SecDef troopers, who, hearing of the incident, have taken up defensive positions outside the city limits. A small police force is also maintained. See CHARACTERS for information on both the Repliforcers and the police.

The surrounding area is pretty much empty. Although evacuation of El Sobrante is not quite complete, the other villages' populations have escaped the general area.

Evacuation effort: The city is down to about 10,000, 5000 humans having fled already. There's a road connecting it to a larger city, and while transports are running as fast as they can it will take several hours to move /everyone/. One squad of Aerials (29th) is protecting the convoy.

Gumbie fire is worked out thusly: At each round, units do damage based on the following formula:

[Damage Done] = [Damage value of firing unit] * [d3] * [number of gumbies firing]

A unit's 'Defense value' is their HP per trooper. For simplicity's sake, dealing one 'measure' of Defense value in damage subtracts a trooper - we're pretending that the damage is focused for casualties' sake.
