The Village Of Cainus
The Village of Cainus lies on the Western side of the Garil Desert. It used to be home to many people,
but then Craymen led some monsters through it, for reasons that were never revealed.
Perhaps it was to distract Edge from following him, but this makes no sense. Craymen never
knew Edge was following him until, at the very earliest, the end of Disc 1. The monster attack took place a third of the way
through that disc.
The only thing known for sure about the Cainus Village Massacre was that it was carried out by Stryders, the bi-pedal, horned monsters
from the Garil Desert. We know this from the profile of Stryders in-game, and Edge probably knew this from the message Gash gave him just before they
went to sleep the night after. You know, the message which Gash's "friend wrote in his own blood". *shivers* Seekers apparently always leave messages for their own kind.
There isn't really much else to say about Cainus. Some people have likened it to Lundi's village from Panzer Dragoon Zwei, but
according to fan books and other sources, Lundi never even lived in that part of the continent. It is curious how the two villages look so similar, what with
the battleship engines sticking out of the ground and all. I guess it must be a generic design on the part of the citizens, the programmers, or both.
Another thing worth a mention is that Cainus was rebuilt in my fan-fic...kinda. It's where Raul and Falder set up a permanent camp in "Scourage Of The Terrablossom".
