Panzer Covers and CDs Panzer Dragoon Covers and CDs
Updated Dec 2nd 2002

The images on this page were all taken from a site called Sega Saturn Covers. If you are the webmaster of that site and you wish these images to be taken down, I have no problem with that. I assumed that these were of free use, seeing as the site they were on actually had a link to download Bitmaps of these images for putting on.....CDs that fell off the back of a cart, shall we say? =) Anyway, if you have any objection to my website using these images, then please e-mail me.The reason for the somewhat poor image quality is that these images were meant to be previews. You could download the bitmap then change it in Paintshop Pro or something but...I don't have any packages that can do that. Maybe soon...

American Eine box
This is the American box for Panzer Dragoon (Eine). As you might expect, it shows "Kyle" (his real name is unknown) flying the dragon. It's better than the European one, but let's be honest, what ISN'T!?

American Eine CD
This is the American CD (for Panzer 1). Man, I wish we Europeans had such cool looking CDs. All we got was a black disc with "Panzer Dragoon" written on it in Hoffman writing. It was purple. Yuck.

Panzer one's Japanese Box
This is the front cover of the Japanese "Panzer Dragoon" (the original). As you can see, it's more colorful than the European and American versions of the game, which only had a picture of the dragon and the player's rider (nicknamed Kyle by fans). I would have preferred this cover to ours, to be honest. I hate the front European cover's lack of imagination, it looks like it could be a pirate picture because it's so bloody simple. The illustration on the Japanese box looks like a colo(u)red concept drawing of the second Episode, flying through the desert.
Panzer one's Japanese CD
Again, the CD is more colorful than it's western counterpart. Ours is just a black background with the words "Panzer Dragoon" on it in purple writing. Tres boring.
The western Zwei box
This is the western (European) box for Panzer Dragoon Zwei. Much better than the original's box, this one shows the different models of dragons your dragon changes into throughout the game. Very good use of color as well, depicting an atmospheric sunset. The American version I haven't got yet, but Lagi describes it as being "rubbish".
The Japanese Zwei box
This isn't so bad either, right enough. Showing one of the Heresy Dragon's crests, it is a good example of the Panzer artwork. Simple, yet effective. Not sure which dragon model's crest it is (lowest one you can finish the game with, but what's it's name?).
Panzer Zwei CD, from Japan
The disc of the Japanese Panzer Dragoon is, again, far superior to it's Western cousin. It shows Lundi sitting on Lagi (the dragon) by a sunset. Compared to the purple on black Western CD, this is a more artistic design.
Panzer Saga CD,Western Disc 2 of the Western version
Disc 3 of the Western version Disc 4 of the Western version
It's supposed to be the final game in the trilogy and they STILL can't design a decent CD! There were 4 CDs in Panzer Dragoon Saga, each one with it's writing in a different color. It was a nice effect for a while, but I, once again, prefer the Japanese Design.
Panzer Saga CD,Japan Disc 2 of the Japanese version
Disc 3 of the Japanese version Disc 4 of the Japanese version
Just look at that artwork! Beautiful. It shows the Heresy Dragon, but in Azel's colors. Interesting, and very effective. Much more effective than, say, different colored writing...
Panzer Saga in Europe Panzer Saga in US
Interestingly enough the USA and European boxes for Panzer Dragoon Saga were slightly different, but it was a superifical change. I prefer the European one, if anyone cares. The white in the USA cover ruins the effect of the artwork in my opinion. Damn Saturncovers.fr for including that side bit on the box, it's making it a nightmare to get the size right!
Panzer Saga in Japan
A pretty good cover, but not as good as the western ones (shock! I like the western version better!). This one is just too crowded. By the way, you can see this image better if you try and start a disc 1 game in Saga with one of the other discs in.
Alternative Saga cover (Jap)
This is, apparently, an alternative PDS cover. It shares a cover with an official book that is as rare as a dodo on a pogo stick, to use my favourite cliche, but it is quite nice. The back of the box looks quite cool, and utilises some Azel art:
