Site FAQ

Welcome to the Temple FAQ. Please search the list for your question. If it is not there, do not hesitate to E-mail your question to the webmaster. He will gladly respond as soon as he is able. Bear in mind that, being a student, Arc'engal is not omnipresent. Your reply will likely be a while.
Question 1: How come your FAQs are in "zip" files? I can't read them!
Answer 1: Well, you see, the Temple only has 15 Mbytes of space allocated to it at Geocities.com. Further space would require money to be paid, and I will be damned if I am going to pay for more space! I will build the site up as normal, but any large documents such as FAQs will be zipped, to restrict the space they take up. Fan fics will likely be in HTML, but if the website approaches the 15 Mbyte limit then I will sadly have to put them in Zip files too.
As for the unzipping problem, you could go to Winzip.com and download a trial version of their software. I personally use PKZIP, although I have forgotten where I acquired it. I'm pretty sure it was shareware, with no time limit.
Question 2: But what is a ZIP file? How do they work?
Answer 2: Ah, that is your problem. Well, a ZIP file works something like this. When you "zip" or compress a file, it counts how many of each symbol you use, and records the location of each symbol. This takes up less space than a normal file. The first part of my PDS guide is 88 Kbytes when unzipped. When zipped, it is only 24 Kytes! That is less than half of the space, almost a quarter! Now you can see how these files save space on the website.
Question 3: When will (feature of site) be online?
Answer 3: When it's ready. That's the only honest answer I can give you. There is no way I can compete with Panzer-dragoon.de, what with Lord Craymen's connections, but I want this website to be the best it can be. That's why I will often delay putting something up to make it better. Fan-fic's are the most common feature that this will happen with.
Question 4: You've got more pictures up. Why?
Answer 4: Because, basically, I realised that 15 Mbytes is actually quite a lot of space. I have some space with NTLworld, but it requires FTP to use and to be honest, I don't want to get bogged down in that. I'd rather just use a browser, like I do with Geocities.
Question 5: Your intro is cool, but where's all the Panzer Orta info?
Answer 5: Orta is coming out soon in Japan. We know some things about the game, but some other things like the plot etc will only be revealed in 17 (at time of writing) days time. To the Japanese. I'll have my Orta section up shortly, at the moment I'm struggling to get the site moved.
Question 6: Will you be posting Orta Spoilers?
Answer 6: Don't even joke about that. Orta Spoilers will NEVER be present on this site until the game is released in the West. Even then, a huge section of the site will be given to Orta with the word SPOILERS slapped everywhere near it. This is a site which will not spoil your experience.
Question 7:How does your rating system work?
Answer 7: Look at the "Ratings" page.
Question 8: Where can I get Mp3s of the various soundtracks?
Answer 8: I'm going to allow you to help yourself on this one. Media-Zero just became a pay site, or at least it will be shortly. Your other best bet is Die Welt Von Panzer Dragoon which allows d/l of 1 mp3 from each disc per day.
Question 9: Your guide to PDS is messed up! The Astral Phantoms rule!
Answer 9: That's actually a statement...anyway, I was told of the Phantom's true purpose AFTER I wrote the guide. When I get time, I'll write up a third section to the guide, giving the Astral Phantom's correction, and also an item guide.
Question 10:When will Scourage of the Ter....
Answer 10: I am DESPERATELY trying to finish "Scourage of the Terrablossom" as I write this. I'm getting really pissed off with the story, it's not writing itself the way it used to. Once it's finished, it's onto "The Dark Drone", by request of Geoffrey Duke.
