Lumpy

Poor Lumpy wasn't the prettiest transgenic roaming Seattle's streets. The left side of Lumpy's face and body were deformed, and for good measure, bleeding. He was wearing a large hat, which didn't work quite that well as a disguise when he went to buy an overcoat from vendors in Chinatown. He bled over the merchandise and the vendors freaked, ordered Lumpy off and leaving no doubt that he wasn't welcomed back.

Catching onto that whole 'real world' deal better than some, Lumpy signed into a motel in Chinatown. He was booked in by the owner's curious son, Henry who decided that spying on paying customers was a perfectly legitimate way to waste a way a bit of time. Henry climbed up the ladder running up the side of the building and watched through the window as Lumpy unpacked his suitcase.

At that very moment, Henry's dad was ushering in the police. He wasn't overly pleased that Lumpy had been allowed into the motel--seeing as Lumpy was being blamed for the illness sweeping through Chinatown. Lumpy suffered the same bad luck as so many of his fellow transgenics, for the cops heard Henry call out. The boy had fallen from his ladder, but had been saved by Lumpy who reached out the window and pulled him in. Lumpy smiled and patted Henry on the cheek before a trigger-happy cop burst into the room and shot Lumpy dead.

Too late, Dr. Shankar revealed that Lumpy wasn't the cause of the sickness in Chinatown.

"Spends his whole life in the basement in case Manticore needs to cut him up for spare parts, finally gets out in the world, and they shoot him dead like he's some kind of animal!" Max cried out.

Lumpy appeared in Radar Love.
