Castlevania: White Night Concerto announced
Konami announced their next Castlevania installement, currently titled White Night Concerto. Originally planned as a PS2 title, the game is being developed by the same people who did the great PSX game Symphony of the Night.
The story takes place in 1740. The main character is Jeust Belmont. The story begins when 2 of Jeust's friends Maxim Quincin and Liddy Erlanger are kidnapped and taken to Dracula's castle.
The game will be a 2D action/adventure/rpg like Circle of the Moon, but with a number of improvements. For example, the map will be larger, contrast will be brighter, animations and graphics will be refined, and you'll be able to save anywhere. Also, the L and R buttons will be used for dashing.
The main weapon will still be a whip, with holy water, the cross and dagger as secundairy weapons. Players will also be able to find spellbooks, which will be used to power up the weapons.
Also, Koji Igarashi, the creator, said that there will definetly be more Castlevania games, and that they might appear on other platforms than the GBA.
White Night Concerto is out in Japan on 6/6/2002, US and EU release dates to be announced. Check out some screenshots on the right, courtesy of MadMansCafe |
