Spider Leg Anyone?

One late night, Osyra and a few friends were out hunting in the temple. Three bards were hunting with Osyra this night and providing lovely songs deep in the confines of the spider home.

Lord Jaysong, Lord Starfor, Lady Callyna and Osyra made this a regular home for themselves. This was a great place to gain hunting experience and to practice their abilities.

Hacking and slashing with their venom hilted falchions, they made mince meat out of the arachnids. Splattering their hairy legs and brain fluids all over the temple walls. Gee would hate to be the one to have to clean that up!

The room was a mess, so Osyra decided to clean up the room by dragging some of the leftover armor, from long dead Priests and Acolytes, into an adjoining room. Callyna joined her, leaving the men in the room to squash the arachnids all by themselves.

Soon Lord Tharic joined the group. A nice man of the Warrior profession.

See when you hunt Mammoth Arachnids, there is really only one place they swarm...in their Home. So hunting in the Home itself leaves very little other places for others to hunt. Inviting others to hunt with you reduces the chance that they are going to be mad at you for hunting in one spot for several hours, and you also make some good friends. Friends you would not have had if you had not offered and invited strangers to hunt with you.

Hunting with others of different professions also had a distinct advantage over hunting with others of the same profession as you. You can trade spells!

The Campers, as they had affectionately called themselves now; because they camped out there for hours at a time most nights, had been there for a few hours when the node they had made for themselves decided that this was an opportune time to disappear.

It was time to node again....

Jaysong shivered. Every time the poor man tried to node he would either be badly stunned or killed. But brave as he was, he puffed his chest out and gestured into the air, preparing to cast the spell that would node the room again.

There was a bright flash of light and Jaysong left our group, collapsing to the ground dead as the arachnids we had been slaughtering all night.

There were mass locates from healers that knew Jaysong personally from the healing and rezzing they did nightly. Well, a least he knew that whenever he died, someone would recognize him and come to his aid. Knowing empaths and cleric's personally had some advantages....though they were costly ones...

We rubbed and consoled Jaysong until a fogger came to whisk his lifeless body from our location.

Osyra sniffed, and then peered quisically at Starfor.... he could node!
