The following statements are personal findings about Manga, Anime, etc. If you think something here is not quite right, let me know.
The Manga
In the Manga, Schwarz first appearance
is connected with Takatori. They seem to be just a group of bodyguards taking
care of their client's interests, and end up being surprised by the appearance
of Weiß.
Even their involvement in Ran's life - with
the destruction of the Fujimiya building - is totally connected with their job
as Takatori's employees.
They seem to be just some kind of counterpart for Weiß's actions.
The Anime
Here, things change a bit. Schwarz takes a different turn: they are more then
just Takatori's bodyguards. In fact, this job seems to be totally secondary
- in such way, that they even end up letting Weiß terminate Takatori.
Schwarz then shows up connected with to Esze organization. It appears that this
is the organization behind the formation of Schwarz themselves. But still, they
participate in that same organization's destruction, apparently to liberate
themselves from Esze.
The Drama CDs
The action starts in Munich outskirts. Schwarz's base.
Sally, that some believe to be a witch, escaped from Rosenkrüs. Schwarz gets
involved when Farfarello saves Sally. And the group that's chasing the runaway
seems to be more powerful then Schwarz...
Unfortunately, I only know one of
the CDs - the first one - and through a written translation on the net. But,
not much of Schwarz's past is unveiled. What I do know, is that both Crawford
and Schuldig had an "intimate" relationship with this same women -
named Silvia - and we find out about her personal findings about each of the
men's... horizontal (or vertical, or what ever) performances. Even
Farfarello finds this strange love interest for that girl, Sally.
