"I've watched my father and brother sacrifice their lives
in the defense of Riddleybank, I've seen hundreds of innocents slaughtered
like so many cattle, and the only thing that keeps me going is the oath
I swore when I took up my father's axe to protect the people and to rid
the city of darkness and the zombie hordes."
A grim man, with fierce green eyes and a stare that strikes fear
into the hearts of even the undead. Can often be seen wandering the
streets at dawn wearing a dark overcoat and wielding an axe of
indescribable power.
"I am the last surviving member of the Belmont Clan, an ancient
family shrouded in mystery. It is said by some that they took up the
charge of the defense of mankind against all the hordes of darkness.
Throughout the years and the great struggles of man, the Belmonts have
played an integral role by protecting the innocent and by dealing out
swift justice to all those who choose to serve the growing darkness.
Over the years, the power of the Belmonts has faded, and an extended
campaign in Eastern Europe against a great and ancient menace has left
the once powerful Clan with precious few survivors.....
"My father, Seifer Belmont, fled Europe following the siege of our
family castle by Prince Dracul and his army of what appeared to be the
walking dead......
"Together with my father and brother, Richter III, the Belmonts came
to Malton and settled in Riddleybank. My father and I joined the local
fire department in order to continue the mission began by our
forefathers so many years ago. My older brother, somewhat of a rebel,
chose to forsake our ancient knowledge of weaponry and hand to hand
combat and become a police officer. He told me why he chose to forsake
his birthright in the moments following our father's death. He said to
me:
"All hope has left me, the strength of our family is broken, what
good is a lousy axe (Casts aside the axe of our father and heirloom of
our clan, OTIS) against the legions of the undead?"
(Draws his pistol, cocks it, and chambers a round)
"No, the days of our fathers have ended, we can no longer carry the charge we have endured for so many
generations, the people and us along with them are utterly alone."
"So it was in this way the axe of our clan, OTIS (Only The Innocent
Survive), passed my elder brother Richter III, and came into my
possession. It is rumored that OTIS fell from the heavens during the
struggle to cast Satan out of paradise from the hands of a slain
archangel. It is written that the first Richter Belmont, forefather of
our clan, had a vision during which he was charged with the protection
of mankind against the dark forces and shown the secret location of the
great axe. It was then passed from father to son until it was passed
to me by my father, Seifer.
"For a time after the outbreak the three of us remained holed up in a
firestation in Riddleybank. It was here, repelling a horde of the
ravenous undead, that my father fell. As he lay dying I swore an oath
to restore the honor and power of the Belmonts and to defend the people
from the Zombie menace to my last breath. After the death of our
father, my brother and I remained in Riddleybank to help the innocents
as best we could, but my brother was killed outside a warehouse when he
ran out of ammunition during a supply raid.
"Having no reason to stay in Riddleybank any more, and with the
zombie horde increasing by the hour, I fled to the suburb of ***LOCATION HIDDEN*** where I remain honing my skills,
building my strength, and awaiting the call of Axes High.
"In the meantime, I coninue to go forth in my mission to claim
revenge for the slain Belmonts upon all the undead that walk the city..." |
