Kinji was always one of those people who couldn't stop messing with fire.
Whenever his parents described him, they always recalled him as
"Tall, blond haired, and a pyro."
After setting fire to his high school, his parents forced him to join the
local firefighters in hopes it would stifle his pyromania.
No such luck.
However, afterward he soon grew to love his job, and put his heart and soul
into it. He quickly rose up the ranks of his department, and was one day
transferred to the elite firefighting department of Malton. Little did he
know that less than a week later, he would be locked in side a city with
thousands of zombies.
Too bad for him.
The first outbreaks caught him right as he was relaxing in **LOCATION HIDDEN**
Fire Station. He leaped to his feet as he saw fires emerge all over the city.
"Hurry!", his superior yelled, "We have to go, NOW!"
He ran to the nearby building, smoke billowing from the windows.
"How did this happen right under our eyes?"
He found out soon enough.
Kinji fought his way through burning debris and falling ceiling as he raced
to save whoever was still alive. He scanned the rooms wildly, his heart racing.
Where was everyone? Finally, he located a body of the ground of one of the rooms.
He turned the body over, searching for signs of life. As he leaned down towards
the body, it reached up and clawed at him, knocking him backwards.
"What, what are you doing? I'm here to save you!"
Yet the body would not be reasoned with. With no other course of action left to him,
he reached behind his back and drew his fire axe.
"Please! I don't want to kill you!"
The zombie merely responded with a groan. Regretfully, he brought the axe
around in an arc, beheading the undead.
He ran down and out of the building, ignoring the other bodies he saw.
He looked back as the building collapsed, the fire consuming everything
left. Sighing, he scratched a notch in his axe.
"Somehow, I think this is just beginning." |
