Part One
It was one of those days that you wished you hadn't gotten out of bed. Or at least, it was for Heero Yuy.
The warm sunshine and pleasant spring breezes only seemed to mock the brown-haired boy's foul mood, granted that, Heero Yuy was never the most sanguine person. He pulled at his offending, over-starched collar and thought angrily about the school's policy for uniform. His previous school on L1 hadn't required anything so useless. Satisfied with the adjustment, Heero took one last look at the view before him.
Romefeller High School, one of the most prestigious and elite schools on Earth. All of the rich and influential figures sent their children here, and though not as academically acclaimed as Heero's former school, was probably it's equivalent in standing. Heero's sucked his teeth in. The school was certainly impressive, and the campus and town beyond were much nicer than anything L1 had to offer, but Heero was still not satisfied. He had left everything he ever knew behind on L1,
and though he hated to admit it, he regretted losing the few acquaintances he had bothered to make back at his old school. Now he was forced to start again ... with all these snobby, rich kids ...
"Heero Yuy. It's good to see you again."
Heero was pulled from his thoughts by a familiar, placid voice. He turned to see a tall young man with brown hair and piercing, emerald eyes. He was dressed in the same school uniform as Heero, and though carefully blank of expression, the tiniest smile seemed to betray him as it crept across his tight lips.
"Trowa Barton," Heero replied, immediately recognizing the other boy. Heero and Trowa had been best friends for years on L1, but Trowa had moved to Earth, or more specifically, to Romefeller High. When Trowa had learned that Heero would be flying in, the other boy sounded genuinely happy. Heero remembered their conversation on the vid-screen. It had been the first time he'd seen Trowa really smiling.
And the taller boy was smiling ever-so-slightly again. He held out his hand to Heero, who took it in a hesitant handshake. It was then that Heero noticed the other boy standing next to Trowa. Trowa introduced them. "This is Quatre Raberba Winner, a friend of mine."
The boy named Quatre smiled warmly. He was radiant, with bright, blond hair and blue eyes. He seemed to emit a cloud of friendliness, that was apparent in his warm handshake. "It's good to meet you, Heero. Trowa has been telling me a lot about you. The two of you used to go to High school together on L1, isn't
that right?"
Heero nodded. "Aa, for two years." Quatre flashed him another winning smile. "I'm sure you'll feel right at
home here on Earth! If you need anything, just ask," he said. Heero nodded. He felt oddly relieved by meeting Trowa and his friend before school. It made the start of this day a little less awkward.
A series of melodic chimes interrupted the boys' conversation. "That's the bell," Trowa informed Heero. "We'd better be getting to class. Here, we'll show you inside, Heero."
Heero followed the two boys into the building, resigned to his fate.

It turned out that Heero was in the same homeroom as Trowa and Quatre, and he ended up spending most of his time with the two boys. Over the next few days, in which Heero was still readily adjusting to his new life, the boys were helpful and especially kind to him. At first, it had bothered Heero a little.
He was used to being more of a loner, and hated the fact that he depended on the two for many things. After those first few days, however, Heero was grateful. He already considered Trowa a friend, but now he had found Quatre to be one as well. His
formerly gloomy outlook on his new school was soon changed, and he felt much more comfortable. He was once again much more interested in his studies.
As far as the other students came, Heero was more than content with ignoring them. Some were pleasant enough to him, but more often than not, the arrogant, pretentious students of the school were often displeased with Heero's 'reluctance' to kiss up. For some reason, this population was nearly all male. The
females, much to Heero's dismay, found him irresistible. Quatre had found it cute that in only three days, Heero had developed a large following, but Heero found it anything but 'cute'. He often found himself discarding love letters from his designated mailbox and dodging amorous classmates in the halls.
On his fourth day at school, Heero had received a notice from the program office. His class requests had finally been processed, and he was able to attend different classes now. He saw that his homeroom and lunch period remained unchanged, but he now had an assortment of other ones he didn't recognize. He
showed the schedule to Quatre and Trowa, who quickly looked it over as they waited for homeroom to start.
"Well, let's see ... you have this with Trowa ... hmmm ... oh look! You have intro to Psychology! I have that too ... you'll like that class, the professor is really nice. Well, that looks like it." Heero looked thoughtfully at the schedule, his brows
furrowing slightly. He hadn't requested Psychology. Quatre misinterpreted Heero's facial expression. "Oh, don't worry! I'm sure you'll make plenty of new friends ...
Oh yeah! And there's someone I want you to meet in Psych. I think you guys will get along really well!"
Quatre was beaming, and Heero found that he couldn't tell the happy boy that he didn't plan on staying for that class.
