Eighth seeds Martina Hingis and Anna Kournikova have continued their hot streak, speeding past the Japanese pair of Shinobu Asagoe and Rika Fujiwara 6-4 6-2. The popular pair will play the number one combination of Lisa Raymond (US) and Rennae Stubbs (AUS) in the semi finals.

Top seeds Raymond and Stubbs defeated the Czech pair - Daja Bedanova and Kveta Hrdlickova - 7-6(8) 6-4 in a tough quarter final show-down on Wednesday. The Czechs had previously defeated No.7 seeds Aussie Nicole Pratt and her Belgian partner Els Callens.

No.13 seeds Daniela Hantuchova (SVK) and Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario (ESP) upset No.9 seeded Slovakians Tina Krizan and Katarina Srebotnik 7-6(3) 6-1. Veteran Sanchez-Vicario spearheaded good net-sense and offensive play to set up a semi final clash with the in-form Spanish combination of Conchita Martinez and Magui Serna.

Martinez and Serna dispatched the 10th seeds Amanda Coetzer (RSA) and Lori McNeil (US) 6-0 6-2 in the last of the quarter final matches.
