Q. How do you feel?
ARANTXA SANCHEZ-VICARIO: I don't feel very well, badly. Apparently, I've been playing fine, but I've made many mistakes. I was never really going to get into the game. There was a slight opportunity at some point there, but I didn't really get into the game at any point.
Q. One can't deny that you tried very hard, but what went through your head when you saw that you couldn't really take advantage of the opportunities that were coming up?
ARANTXA SANCHEZ-VICARIO: As I said before, I was playing well, but I made many, many mistakes according to statistics. Of course, all my mistakes count. They count in the final results.
Q. And the result for a Grand Slam game is really striking for you?
ARANTXA SANCHEZ-VICARIO: Yes. Every once in a while something like this happens. It happened to be here. It's a great pity.
Q. Does it really lead to any kind of decision? Do you begin to think you're not coming back?
ARANTXA SANCHEZ-VICARIO: No. I'm going to take some time to get a rest and to think what I can do, but it's not as if I were to get any ideas of going into retirement or not, because that's not really a decision that one makes because of losing like I did today.
Q. How do you think you've done through this season, from a tennis point of view?
ARANTXA SANCHEZ-VICARIO: Well, it has been different from others. I don't really know how to qualify this. I'm not particularly happy about the way I've been playing, but it's not the end of the world either. Of course, I just hope that I can begin playing better again.
Q. This result is very difficult. Do you really think that it's worthwhile going on because you wanted to win a Grand Slam, and apparently you've been badly defeated?
ARANTXA SANCHEZ-VICARIO: I don't really know if I'd call it a defeat. But, of course, this is just one game. What happened happened. But it's not a reason for saying I am going to retire. I've not really had many games like this throughout my career, but it can happen. It doesn't mean that I have to stop playing tennis. I've been able to achieve practically everything that could be achieved. Of course, I can take advantage of it and be pleased that I had such great opportunities.
Q. What are you going to do from now on? What are you going to seek?
ARANTXA SANCHEZ-VICARIO: Well, leave me some time to come to conclusion.
Q. How much time?
ARANTXA SANCHEZ-VICARIO: I don't really know.
Q. Wimbledon is very close at hand.
ARANTXA SANCHEZ-VICARIO: I don't really know. I don't know how much time it will take for me to come to some decision.
Q. You lost against another young Spaniard. Does this mean anything special to you? Does this mean that she represents a new generation of players?
ARANTXA SANCHEZ-VICARIO: Yes. This is a younger generation of tennis players from Spain, and she's 10 or 11 years younger than I am, of course this counts. But I think that it's a good thing that increasingly you have young people coming into the game, and she's had a more solid game this time around. I wasn't really able to get into the game at any point in time. She's a good player. She has the future ahead of her.
Q. There are many things that can be said about your game, but your game wasn't really there this time around. It didn't work this time, at least as it used to work in the past. Do you think it was only this game or it's true that it can be carried over to other games?
ARANTXA SANCHEZ-VICARIO: No. As you said, at no point in time was I able to really play today. I never was able to get into the game. All the balls that she scored on -- really doesn't mean that it carries over into another game. But the reality has been this: at no point was I really able to get into the match.
