Career Highlights
1990 to 1994
Disappointing Start
The 90's did not start off too well for Sanchez-Vicario, losing early in the majors. In 1990, she lost in the second round in the French Open, first round at Wimbledon and eventually picked herself up to perform better in the US Open where she lost to Steffi Graf in the semi-finals. She did win a few more titles but overall, it was a dismal season pertaining to the Grand Slam events she played in. The only Grand Slam title she won was the French Open mixed doubles title with Jorge Lozano. Overall, she reached seven finals, losing four of them to Graf and emerged as winner in two of them. She ended the year ranked No. 7.
