Past, Present and Future
You have given me the best anyone could give
You have given me a good life to live.
You have given me everything I need
You have planted in me a seed.
You have given me a past, present and a future.

The love you have displayed has given me grace
Even when I basically laughed in your face,
You never stopped caring, for that I thank you.
If you ever did, I don't know what I'd do.
You have given me a past, present and a future.

You gave birth to me, gave me breath and life
You gave me courage to face every strife.
You helped me to stand and face the world
Even when its full wrath was unfurled.
You have given me a past, present and a future.

You give to me the grave to face the 'morrow
And hope to face any and all sorrow.
You give me love for all who wrong me
By demonstrating it for me to see.
You have given me a past, present and a future.

You will lead me on through the years
When they bring laughter and tears.
You will hold my hand at my marriage
and council me through the baby and carriage.
You have given me a past, present, and a future.

Someday, you won't be here and I'll be alone
With those rugrats called "children" of my own.
I won't have your brains to get me through the day,
But your guidence and love will light the way
For you had give me a past, present and a future.
