MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR
Motor Vehicle Operators are civilian members of the New York City Police Department. Their main responsibility is to operate Department tow trucks which are used to relocated vehicles from parade routes or from areas that need to be cleared of vehicles. These civilian member also operate "Paddy Wagon" which are used to transport prisoners from precincts to correctional facilities, or from areas where a mobile arrest proceesing site is needed like at the scene of a large demonstration.
