John Tensen / Net Prophet

John Tensen / Net Prophet

He is a man lost, far away from the land of his birth. A man who lived in a universe where a strange white event gave one out of every million people paranormal powers. John Tensen was one of those men, given the ability to project life-saving shields from his left hand and death-dealing swords from his right. But somewhere along the way he was caught up in something a whole lot bigger than him -- something he's just now beginning to piece back together. He's come to the world of Marvels, the Marvel Universe Earth, 100 years in the future. Powers changed, shifted; memories fleeting, gone. A strange situation is made stranger when considering he looks not a day older than when he was on his own Earth in 1997. What event brought him to the Marvel Universe Earth? What changed his powers so? What sort of miracle could bring him back to the world of his birth?

And now for the rest of our cast...
Xina Kwan

Xina Kwan

Xina came only recently into the world of the Net Prophet, having been drawn in by Tensen's seemingly alien nature. An old friend and ex-lover of Miguel O'Hara, AKA Spider-Man 2099, she is suffering from feelings of depression after seeing Miguel's most recent girlfriend Dana D'Angelo killed (instead of her) by the vicious Venom of 2099, Kron Stone. She has decided to get away from all which reminds her of Dana's death, which is to say Miguel and the city of New York. On a trip across country to find new meaning for her life, she came across John Tensen, and the two have been traveling together in her car ever since.

First appearance: SPIDER-MAN 2099 #19

Henri Huang, AKA Meanstreak

Henri Huang / Meanstreak

Henri Huang is a mutant with an accelerated metabolism, enabling him to run and perform various other activities at super-speed. He was an attendee of the Alchemax Academy alongside such students as Jordan Boone and Xina Kwan. However, he decided to leave Alchemax and devised his own means of doing so. He eventually joined the future's X-Men as a founding member, but went astray due to his allegiances with Boone, who coerced him to help build a Virtual Unreality projector atop Synge Tower in Las Vegas. After the botched attempt, Henri went back to the X-Men.

First appearance: X-MEN 2099 #1

Thanatos

Thanatos

The being known as Thanatos is as mysterious as he is malevolent. He appeared in 2099 shortly after the first tests of Jordan Boone's Virtual Unreality device, claiming he was a disembodied spirit from the Heroic Age given form through, as believed, the inhabitation of the body of Aaron Delgato, an Alchemax employee. He claims to have been a pallbearer at Thor's funeral, and sees himself as the Omega, the end of all things. Mysteriously, Tensen, above all else, is an anethema to him. Who is he really, and why is he spouting such fantastic stories? Time will tell...

First appearance: ???
First 2099 appearance: (as Aaron Delgato) SPIDER-MAN 2099 #1; (as Thanatos) SPIDER-MAN 2099 #11

Jennifer D'Angelo

Goblin

Father Jennifer D'Angelo / The Goblin

Jennifer D'Angelo, formerly a priest at the Downtown Church of St. Patrick, was the sister of the late Dana D'Angelo. Shortly after the Net Prophet arrived in 2099, she took him under her wing and educated him about the ways of the future. Somehow along the way, he helped her discover a special chest which unleashed the power of a mystical being known as the Tetragrammaton, and consequently transformed her into the being's slave, the Goblin. Of late the church has been destroyed, and she is free of the Tetragrammaton's influence, using the Goblin identity to mete out justice as she sees fit. She and Tensen were lovers, and the discovery of what Tensen had inadvertently done to her was too much for him to bear, so he left her to find out about the world for himself.

First appearance: (as Jennifer) SPIDER-MAN 2099 #8; (as Goblin) SPIDER-MAN 2099 #38

Jordan Boone

Halloween Jack

Jordan Boone / Loki / Halloween Jack

A man of many faces, Jordan Boone was a research scientist who had been transferred to Alchemax New York to work on Virtual Unreality, another dimension parallel to our own and in many ways similar to Reed Richards's discovery of the Negative Zone. The initial tests of the device used to access the dimension released the beings known as Thanatos, then later, John Tensen. After the device failed to produce viable results in the eye of CEO Tyler Stone, Boone interfered in the "Aesir" project to make himself the shapeshifting god of lies, Loki. Yet again after the fall of the floating city Valhalla, Boone transformed into Halloween Jack and preyed on the Synge family in Las Vegas. After destroying their empire, he used the Synge Casino as a base for his new Virtual Unreality Projector. Unfortunately, as a result of the EMP waves set up by Doom during his Presidency to prevent the extension of VU beyond Vegas, the waves of VU were pushed back onto the city and it exploded, leaving nothing but rubble. A few weeks later, Boone was believed to have committed suicide in an encounter at Alchemax Tower with Spider-Man and Morbius while trying unsuccessfully to take back his original projector. It remains to be seen whether Boone or any of his alter-egos survived the aforementioned encounter.
