Projects In Development
I am constantly developing and pursuing ideas for future books when my current projects frustrate me so much that I need something else to think about for a while. CSW used to be my release but now that its winding to a close, I have some other ideas in the mix. Here are a few of the more likely ones to be developed further.
"The Wolfy Book" - collab with Laury Da Silva
Laury and I work together on Setanth's King. I'm the author and she's the illustrator. Laury also has a story of her own that is quite lovely. I would be remiss if I let such creative genius go to waste so together we are developing an original fantasy story. We are still working out kinks and learning to work together (we both have very different styles of writing), we haven't even decided on a decent working title yet. When we get more stuff together, I'll put more information about it here. And when we actually start writing it, I'll add it to the books page.
"The Parker Family"
As a bid in the romance field (its a trend currently among female fantasy authors to publish at least one romance novel and I like the romance genre just as much as fantasy), this will be my contribution. In the spirit of the great romance families, Roberts' Macgregors and Quinns, Laurens' Cynsters, ect., I've created the Parker Family, a mixture of Irish-English spirits let loose on Regency England. I've ten books planned at the moment for the series, starting off with the matriarch/patriarch of the clan, Thomas Parker and his lady-love Joyce Hawkins, though that number may be less or more depending on popularity. This is likely to be my only foray into the subject of romance novels for even though I love the genre, I feel more comfortable writing fantasy novels.
"Becoming II"
As I finished the first draft of Becoming, I started the sequel. Whether I will actually continue the story, depends on how I feel at the end of the final draft of Becoming and if I still feel the same way about the proposed sequel. To give more here would be to give away the ending of the book, so I won't speak another word. Suffice to say, a few of the same characters will reappear, if a little older.
"A Piece of Wind and Sky"
I often call this my dentist chair book. I had braces for three years in my early teenaged years (to those who've not had braces, that means monthly orthodontist visits) and went twice a year, some times more, since then. To amuse myself while lying back in the chair, I developed a story in my mind to entertain me. Some of its on paper yet, most of it is still hanging around the edges of my brain, it certainly keeps me occupied to this day whenever I find myself in that chair. I figure since it’s kept me going this long, others might be interested in it as well. Further developments will definitely be pursued once I finish Becoming.
