Name: Kino Makoto Meaning: Sincerity of the Wood Ruling Planet: Jupiter Favorite Color: Pink Powers: Thunder and Lightning Birthdate: December 5, 1977 Blood type: O Hair: Reddish brown/ Auburn Eyes: Green A girl who loves to cook with strength and abilities that amazes everyone at first sight. But behind those bright and cheerful eyes there's a sad and lonely story of loss and neglect. Even though Makoto looks happy, her past says otherwise. When she was little, Makoto's parents died in a plane crash leaving her without any relatives to take care of her; growing up alone, detached. She lived by herself in her own apartment decorated with family pictures and plants. She learned to be independent, never leaning on anyone but always there for others, and learned to cook and clean and many other tasks, all on her own. Her sense of protection fits her title as the Senshi of Protection; a big sister to all the inner Senshi, she’s always there for them to count on. In the anime Makoto came to Juuban because she was kicked out of her old school for fighting but in the manga she came because she felt something drawing her to Tokyo, that something was the power of Jupiter awakening inside her. Before she came to Tokyo and like the other inner Senshi, Makoto was lonely and unsociable. People knew her as the girl that was always getting into fights and with her tomboy attitude and tall physique, they were afraid of her. But when she came to Juuban and met Usagi, Usagi befriended Makoto despite the bad reputation, mostly because of the delicious goodies in Makoto’s lunch box. (-. -;) Although Makoto and the other three Senshi are close friends, Usagi stands as Makoto’s first, real best friend. Even though Makoto acts un-ladylike most of the time, she dreams of becoming a bride and owning her own bakery or flower shop and forever annoying the other Senshi by saying “He looks like my old senpai…” whenever a cute boy walks by. As Sailor Jupiter, Makoto wields the power of lighting and other elements such as nature. She has great strength and agility and usually the first to sacrifice herself for the sake of the team. She is a great Senshi and friend to the truest sense of the word and remains one of the most powerful.
