In Thy Steps

Lord, help me be a friend to all
Who need a friend today.
May I comfort and encourage
The ones You send my way.

Lord, help me rise above my pain
To lend a helping hand.
Give me the words I need to say
To show I understand.

Place within my heart a spark
Until it is a flame
And let it shine within the dark
That all may know Your name!

Teach me, Lord, that I might lead
Some weary soul to Thee,
That I might follow in Thy steps
And Your disciple be!
