A size perspective

A smaller guy (gal?). I could approach pretty close.

And the guy who made them. (scrambled order of pictures)
I don't know how serious these fights were. I never saw blood, but they looked real enough to me.

Later I took on one of these seals. They would make a gutteral cough/grunt when initiating a thrust at an opponent. I went up to one. It looked at me, but did not appear menacing. I let out one of these grunts and the thing made a lunge for me. Luckily I am quicker on land than he is.
