Present – R Roan( Chair), P Lochhead, R Williams, V Edwards, H Warren, J Gravit
Apologies –P Hardy
Minutes - of September meeting confirmed – Lochhead/Williams
Matters Arising –
1. No more action to report on Clarke Rd corner, but understanding that a central turning bay may be on plans
2. Strong community response to Transit’s proposed 80 km. limit out to Omokoroa corner and to remove passing bays. R Roan was reported in newspaper opposing this. – likely that Transit will reconsider options – still strong support for urgent progress on new northern four lane road rather than short term measures, but money not yet allocated
3. Agreed that Secretary write to Transit asking about timeframe for second bridge over Te Puna stream as this is a major crash risk, rather than just lowering speed limit
4. Secretary has written to Inroads about safety issues at Te Puna Hall corner
5. Noticeboard site approval now awaiting Te Puna Station Road industrial site appeal decision early in 2005 – as it proposes more land being needed for a major roundabout on Hall corner
6. W Griffin is still working on Te Puna web site and to report at next meeting
7. Discussion on how to better develop links with local organizations listed in Te Puna news. Each Committee member to think about this and could each contact some informally as a first step. P Lochhead to meet with the Skate Board group to see what progress can be made
8. Te Puna Quarry Society is now using the Te Puna Hall piano for choir practices for the carol service on 11 December. Letter of support for funding to buy one is no longer required
Financial –
1. Treasurer not present, but affairs satisfactory
2. Meet the Candidates evening successful, and door donations of $34 received but out of pocket due to flier mailing cost – agreed to pay Coural $67.50 -Lochhead/Edwards - congratulations to J Gravit on her Council re- election
3. $200 received after applying to Council for an annual administration grant
4. Have received and banked the old Te Puna Residents and Ratepayers funds of $108.95 when this society closed
Correspondence
1. J Pringle has given TPH a copy of EBOP Effluent Disposal Report and a public meeting had been earlier organised by TPH to explain the tighter controls planned for Te Puna West septic tanks. R Roan had been consulted for TPH on a WBOPDC commissioned report ($25,000 project) which looked at options for a local wastewater scheme in the residentially zoned area of Te Puna West. – agreed that TPH should co-opt involved residents in a working sub group, and respond to both these papers suggesting that they be consulted and kept informed at all stages and that they request that the Regional Council investigates what assistance they can provide to remove the local estuary pollution problems. P Lochhead to lead this issue
2. Pirirakau Environmental plan had been given to TPH through R Roan for comment and a submission had been made supporting the proposed directions and looking forward to more future planning and detailed action plans for the area. Time for submissions has been extended
3. Discretionary Grants papers received, but no application to be made as still haven’t spent Noticeboard grant
General

2. No progress with Transit on local Te Puna area entrance signs and may be easier to erect these on private land. – P Lochhead still working on this and funding
