July ODGC Newsletter

The Monday Random draw tournaments are in full swing, we have had as many as twenty people playing during a tournament, and hope for more. A few points of interest to mention that we have decided on are as follows:

 1.       The entry fee is $5 for the Monday tourneys with $1 going towards the ACE pool, and $1 dollar going to a Closest to the Pin prize.

2.      The ACE pool will be capped at $100. Once the cap is reached we will continue to collect and then start the pool at $50 or whatever is in the reserve at the time it is won.

3.     A minimum of ten players are required to have the CTP contest during a round, if we don’t have ten, we will not collect for the CTP prize that week. If we have 18 players or more, we will have two CTP holes. The CTP prize will normally be a disk.

4.     You may play in the tournaments without taking part in the contests.

Results from the June 2002 Tournaments

I do not have some info for the June results; I’ll be keeping better records from this point on. Please help by writing both players name and the date on your scorecards.

Course Rules as decided by the ODGC

1.    The drop area for the mando on Hole #6 is the tee box; in other words, re-tee with a one-stroke penalty.

2.    All roads bordering the course are OB. If your disk is surrounded by asphalt you are OB, if you are not sure, ask someone in your group for a ruling. If you are touching the asphalt, but are in bounds, you may move 1 meter away from the edge of the asphalt.

3.     The test rose garden is OB. Take a one stroke penalty and drop within one meter of the fence, where it entered the garden.

Other Items of Interest

We hope to hold a one day tournament sometimes during the month of August, please be thinking of ways we can hold a successful tournament, i.e., Putting contest, Distance contest, etc. As of now I envision a morning singles round and an afternoon two-man team best disc round with the round from the best disc round added to the morning round to give a 36-hole singles score. And also a 9 or 18 hole night tournament.
