"Ahh, but it does matter where it's from," Ares replies.  "If you knew anything about me and my preferences, you would know that it matters."  He pauses to study you carefully.  "Ahh, well, there's not much I can do about your ignorance."  He takes the sword.  "Thank you for your donation...you know where the door is...show yourself out."
