Belldandy, or Verthandi, comes from the Norse mythology, and is the goddess of the present.
In the anime, Belldandy is the middle child, with one older, and one younger sister goddess.
Belldandy is a decent, kind-hearted, sympathetic, and sometimes naive girl.
She cares deeply for her sisters, but also has an overdeveloped sense of duty.
When Keiichi called the Goddess hotline, it was the ever-so polite Belldandy who came to grant him his wish.
A long time ago, when Keiichi and Belldandy were children, Keii saw Bell in the forest.
After playing, and having fun, each promised the other one thing, Keiichi promising Belldandy a ring which she liked very much, and Belldandy primising that she would return the next day.
But, since Belldandy had not finished with her Goddess trials, she was forced to break her promise, and to erase all memory of their meeting from Keiichi, and she's been feeling very guilty ever since, feeling that she let Keiichi down.
Belldandy truly loves Keiichi, and is very self-conscious that he doesn't like her.
She's very devoted- cooks, cleans, and does everything to make Keiichi happy and pleased.
Though she's usually kind, she can be quite aggressive when it comes to Keiichi's safety, as we see when Urd gave Keiichi that love potion.
Belldandy's travelling medium is through mirrors, she emerged from a large one in Keiichi's dormitory in the first episode, when he called on her for a wish!
