The Boy Who Was Overcome: Inu-Yasha
Half-human, half-demon, this sharp-toothed, dog-eared demi is no fluffy puppy...
Inu-yasha is the son of a great demon father, anda human mother, but resents his human side
as weak and emotional.
He's aloof, and not the gentlest or most polite person either, but no matter how hard he tries to hide it,
he does care for his friends, and even becomes over-protective for Kagome!
Inu-Yasha (Dog Demon) wields the powerful sword Tetsuaiga, made from a tooth of his own father.
The powerful sword cannot be used to harm people, thus it can't be wielded by full demons.
The Tetsuaiga has the power to transform and become more powerful... in the right hands ^^;;.
Apart from teh Tetsuaiga, Inu-Yasha can also fight with speed, agility, fists, and some nice
'energy' attacks, he can also become a handy pogo stick, carrying Kagome and Shippo around- wouldn't you
just love to have an Inu-Yasha to ride on?
Inu-Yasha has quite a tragic past, he fell in love with a priestess, Kikyo, who was later
reincarnated into Kagome. It was a pretty odd, and maybe even 'forbidden' kind of love, and it
did bring on some pretty bad circumstances.
Kikyo was the head priestess in charge of protecting the immensely powerful Shikon jewel, a jewel
that can change increase the strength and capability of mortals and demons alike by a hundredfold!
On one ill-fated day, Inu-Yasha and Kikyo made an arrangement to meet.
Kikyo came, bringing the Shikon jewel, believing that Inu-Yasha wished to shed his demon half
and become a full human. Sadly though, Inu-Yasha attacked her as she came, and Kikyo felt she was betrayed
by the one man she loved and trusted. A great battle commenced, and Kikyo was greatly injured,
before she could die she summoned the last of her energy and bound Inu-Yasha to a tree with her sacred
arrow, leaving him there for over 50 years, until Kagome releases him.
Despite everything though, Inu-Yasha still loves Kikyo, and Kikyo still bears an intense hatred
towards him for betraying her. The circumstances of the day are all explained in one revealing
episode...
Another grudge stands between Inu-Yasha and his full-demon brother Sesshomaru, whose goal in life
is the take the Tetsuaiga and kill his brother... fratricide *shakes head*
Inu-Yasha truly does have a soft spot for Kagome, which he totally lets loose when Miroku is
around, *sigh* jealousy, so cute.
