The Girl Who Overcame: Kagome

Sit Boy! Sit! Sit! Sit!

Kagome is a pretty average girl living in a shrine in modern-day Japan.
She worries about tests, her crush, and her schoolwork- until she goes down a well into Feudal Japan, releases the dog-demon Inu-Yasha, and shatters the sacred Shikon Jewel...
Kagome spends time between both worlds, when she's in modern Japan she live a fairly normal life, and goes to school- until the next demon sighting that is; and when she's in Feudal Japan she travels with Inu-Yasha and Shippou in search of the Shikon Jewel shards, while her grandpa ivents hilarious excuses to get her out of school- rheumatism, arthritis, warts ^^;;!
Kagome is believed to be the reincarnation of the priestess Kikyo, and she does retain some of her powers, including being able to purify the Shikon jewel shards just by touching them, and wielding Kikyo's sacred arrows.
Kagome has a teasing personality, she's kind, compassionate, and cares strongly for others, she loves to tick Inu-Yasha off, and even though he's mean and impolite sometimes, Kagome can see through his rough exterior, to the warm heart he has inside.
Kagome really cares about Inu-Yasha, and has saved him countless times, she's brave and doesn't shy away from action when she's really needed.
Kagome isn't your average shoujo herione, she's no ditz, and she's intelligent, courageous, and a good strategist.
Her weakness and strength is her strong will, good heart, and determination, which can get her and Inu-Yasha in and out of messes!
Kagome believes in giving people a chance, and helps to 'tame' Inu-Yasha into a good, kind, and caring... half-demon.
