Of Having Fun

By Joshua Shammay

Of mice and gods
Of having fun
To find the essence of the one
A map is made of human souls
With laughter overlaying all

The seed of which, a mortal tear
(as stemmed from death of family,
or friends held near).
That salty water, that anti-joy, yet begets
A lighter ploy;
For speed, and light… and having fun
Are bound through this constant one
Newton's friend, and Einstein's too
Is relative to me and you.

A moment's pain must balance out
The greater joy, what life's about
And happiness can be redefined
As the perfect state of mind.

To say most know would be untrue
Though still there is a hidden view
What men can hear
Their souls contrive
To engender knowledge, strive
To awaken peace within
By giving us this simple sin

None but the art of having fun
Relax, while your life is spun
Work hard, and yes, play hard too
If nothing else that I teach you
Then this alone, the sum of truth,
The secret of eternal youth
The knowledge of the very Gods!!
Is freely given here for sods.

I tell to you and will make plain
What I mean by what I've say'n
Two words to get you through your life
To bring you joy, to end all strife
As certain as the setting sun
In all things, you must
Have Fun!
