Doth a scepter and a crown symbolize a king?
Is not a man measured by the weight of his soul and the strength of his heart?
And if equality is not a civilized thing;
Then is not civilization a contradiction in part?
And our lives senselessly fleeting.
Doth the wealth of a man symbolize his power?
Do not the less fortunate breathe the same free air?
And if wealth means to worry and work every hour;
Then the poor of world must not have a care.
surely, if this was true society would not be sour.
Doth the garbs of a man symbolize his ideals?
Do his clothes tell of what he has been taught?
And if men dress the same and eat the same meals;
does this mean that they, in turn, think the same thoughts?
Are individuals separate in what truths they feel?
Doth the manner of a man symbolize his status?
Do the powerful stand more erect and walk with a firmer stride?
Do the athletes of the world run fast with fitness?
Do the beggars of the streets hobble and horribly bend to one side?
And does some all knowing being look on and rate us?
And what does humanity score…..
