How to Reach your Higher Self  written by Paul Dunlop <DUNLOP_P@kosmos.wcc.govt.nz>

Your higher self is a dynamic, growing life force consciousness. It exists in a realm where all beings are untied as one multidimensional consciousness. Your higher self knows why you have the challenges that you have, your higher self is the essence of who you are. It is the wise teacher within you.

For this meditation you can be sitting or lying.

Then Close your eyes and take a deep breath. (Into your navel). On the in breath imagine a clear pure white light entering your body from above and exiting (going through your body) into the ground. This is a very general cleansing, you can adapt this so that you clear each charka at a time if you wish.

Then move your awareness to each body part individually. I.e., toes, individual toes, sole of foot, calf muscles, thigh muscles, back, arms , fingers, palm, etc. Make sure that when you become aware of the body part that you consciously relax it. The charkas are energy points that allow you to link to your spiritual side. there are 7 major charkas, and several minor, (i.e. your hands and feet)

These major charkas are, Base, Spleen, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Forehead, and the crown / top of your head. The base charka is at the bottom of your spine. Its color is red.

The spleen charka located neat the spleen is color orange. The solar-plexus charka is just above your navel, and is color yellow. The Heart charka is at your heart and is green (or pink). Your throat charka is at the base of your throat and is blue.

The brow / forehead, third eye charka is purple or indigo. The Crown charka is at the top of your head and is color violet.

When you become aware of each body part, make it relax. If you find that it hurts then breath light through your mouth and into the body part.

Do this until you feel peaceful, focused , and physically comfortable. Total relaxation is dependant upon how aware you are of your body and how easy you find it to let go of each body part.

The next step is to ask your spiritual guides to be present. To do this you can say it aloud, or think it. Ask that their presence be felt so that you know they are there. Feel the joy, love, and peace surrounding you, they are here to help you.

Now, its time to meet your higher self.

Imagine your higher self in the distance, beginning to come toward you. You can picture your higher self in what way feels most comfortable to you.

Greet and welcome your Higher-Self, invite it to come closer.

Mentally ask your Higher-Self to assist you in making your connection to it stronger. Feel the radiance of its love surrounding you and embracing you. Feel lines of light coming to you from your Higher-Self, and as these lines touch you, feel your vibration increase.

You and your Higher Self are now one.

 Psychic Self-Defense: Tower of Light

First and most importantly - keep thinking positively. Do not give way to negative thoughts and influences when dealing with Spirit. Easily said perhaps, but a good loving and positive attitudes makes you well nigh invincible.

Shield of Light

Close your eyes and circle an imaginary ring of  pure, white light about six inches over the head, then quarter with across (there are the symbols that will work just as well but for most mediums the cross has most meaning and protective ability}. From  this cross in a circle

of light draw down over the head and body a protective sheath of shining white light, that ends under the feet. This should then be joined under the feet.

Orb of Light

This can be easily be combined with the method above. Image an orb of white ( or blue if this seems more effective) light hovering and sending out rays of light about 9 inches to a foot above the crown of the head. Some people link this to the head or third eye with strand of light.

The Astral Planes and other Worlds of Spirit written by Marc Macy <initus@worlditc.org>

The spirit realms are generally described as dimensions or planes distinguishable by the different densities and vibratory rates (or frequencies) of the substances they contain, and the various dimensions are said to interpenetrate, existing in the same space. Different people have divided these infinite realms into different numbers of vibratory regions (often seven, nine or twelve), and various names have been used by different people to differentiate among these regions. For most of us living in the physical world and preoccupied by its material comforts, those are heady concepts. So it may be easier to visualize the spiritual planes aligned concentrically.

The physical plane ( the world around us, our conscious reality) is composed of comparatively dense, slowly vibrating matter.

The astral planes are generally divided into the lower, middle, and higher, although each division actually contains many, many divisions of varying vibratory rates. After we have shed our physical body, most of us reportedly "wake up" in our astral body living in the specific astral plane in which substance is vibrating at the same rate as the substance of our astral body. This is sometimes called our home frequency.

During our lives on Earth and beyond we determine our vibratory rate by out thoughts, attitudes and spiritual understanding. Fear and resentment produce low vibrations, while love produces very high vibrations, while orthodox closed - mindedness (whether religious, scientific or political) produces low vibrations. Attachments to worldly things creates low

vibrations, while calm detachment in the Eastern tradition produces high vibrations.

The lower astral planes are described as a dark, dismal world reminiscent of the Christian purgatory or hell. Some people of low vibration thoughts and attitudes, after dying, are pulled toward and trapped near the physical plane in a state of confusion. There being no gravity nor sense of time nor space in the worlds of spirit, they might reside here for years or for centuries of Earth time, not even aware that they have died, yet totally bewildered, creating problems of Earth in many ways. Some 20-30 percent of people go here when they die.

The middle astral planes are a pleasant realm where 60-70 percent of us wake up to be rehabilitated after our earthly education in "school of head knocks."

The higher astral planes are a wonderful realm called Heaven by Christians, the Summerland by spiritualists. About ten percent if us will wind up here after we die.

The mental causal planes are a realm of divine inspiration free of earthly desires and conflict. The beings in these discussions cause many of the artistic and technical breakthroughs on Earth by sending silent messages to its inhabitants.

The celestial planes, beyond the comprehension of most people, are said to be the home of the Christian God, the Buddha, and other great beings.
