The Waiting Game
Here is a picture of Maddie's temperature chart, trying to graph when the magic drop happens that will announce the imminent arrival of pups.
If I catch it... if it happens... It is watch and wait time, hard not to worry and think about everything that can go wrong. I keep a close eye on her, checking for minute signs of labour, constantly running over all the little clues in my head. I am not keen to go out for long, what if I miss some sign?
Maddie has always liked her privacy, so I have to look very, very, closely. And I try not to worry, or imagine scenarios, because that doesn't help anyone.
Maddie is still completely laid back, her big belly hanging low. She is getting used to the increased size and weight, and is actually more agile than she was a week ago. She sleeps, still plays tug, and enjoys the four meals a day she is getting.
I, on the other hand, am obsessively sewing puppy blankets. I gotta do something.
