Puppies are going home...
Happy and Sad Times...
The pups are 14 weeks now, and it is really time for them to go to their new homes. I can tell they all need their own families to dote on them, and help them meet a big, wide world.
Hard not to become ridiculously attached to them, my favourite is usually the one I am holding at any particular moment. It has been, as always, amazing to watch them grow: to see personalities develop, see them experience things for the first time, and watch their little bodies morph into the shape of the dog they will be one day.
Hard not to want to keep them all, but I have other dogs that need me, and I can only keep the ones that will do all the things I want them to do.
The happy part is finding these wonderful people, who are dying to get a special puppy, and adore them the moment they set eyes on them. Colleen's family in Calgary are delighted with the mischievous and precocious Pekoe, and have sent me wonderful updates. And today, the adorably sweet Rooibus, is going home with Sarah, Gualter, and their other dog Rufus. I still have Sencha, but he, too, will have a home to go to soon. I wish them all the best of luck with their new happy homes, and look forward to hearing about their adventures.
And when the door closes, and the car drives away, I return to my couch, and when all my lovely, special dogs pile on for a cuddle, it is hard to be sad for long.
(BTW, I have the most adorable pic of Rooibus I am trying to post, but stupid geocities won't let me. They have just informed me they are closing down their web hosting, so I am going to have to move this whole site, ONE MORE TIME, over the next few months. Stupid geocities. Stupid photo uploader.)
