Hogan is on his way, and other bits and pieces...






It was a very nice day at the Prairie Dachshund Specialty, as Hogan went Best of Winners, and Jezebel went Best of Opposite Sex under judge Gerry Taylor. It was nice to get some points on both of them, and push Hogan into the home stretch to his championship. I enjoyed watching all the dachshunds go around at the specialty, it sure is educational to look at numerous examples of the breed, rather than just one or two.



Both dogs showed really well, and I am proud of the two of them. Jezebel had a ball, and marched around the ring full of pee and vee - she made me laugh with her enthusiasm, boinging around.

Meanwhile, Maddie, who has never cooperated much, has decided not to let me know if there are puppies in there or not. I have prodded and studied her, laid flat on the floor to see her tummy from the side, and I cannot tell. I give it true 50/50 odds that there are pups in there, and I am leaning to no, but I would love to be wrong. The curiosity is killing me, and she doesn't even like cats.



So her x-ray is next week. I am trying not to get hopes up, but they keep creeping in anyway. To offset any disappointment, I entered the dogs in a show the same time the pups are due.



I thought I would tempt fate.
