Customers of fast food outfits make a few assumptions about their servers. This is just a way to let you know what your server can and cannot do.
Despite what customers think, the servers at Tim Hortons ARE NOT telepathic. They will not know what you want in your coffee. Or what kind of donut that you want. Or where you are pointing. Or what a "You know....." is.....The server is busy. They don't have time to pry your order out of you. Their job is to serve you, not order for you. Don't assume that the server will know what you want in your coffee.
The wrong way to order:
"Hi, can I help you?"
"Yeah, I'd like a coffee and a donut."
You will get a small coffee black and an old-fashioned plain donut.
The correct way to order:
"Hi, can I help you?"
""Yes, I would like a medium coffee, double double and a walnut crunch"
There you will get what you want.
A.1.:A little info about Tim Hortons products.
Coffee is black. It doesn't come brewed with cream, or sugar, or milk. Bagels come just as they are. They aren't toasted unless you ask. They aren't baked with the cream cheese on them. Butter has to be added. Let your server know how you want your product.
B. I am not stupid.
This may surprise you but the majority of Tim Hortons workers are not stupid. Alot have, or are in the process of going to school. Some are paying off their schooling. Some are just making some extra cash to help with their household.
1. I will get your order right if you order it right. If you don't want something in your coffee or on your bagel don't mention it. If you want a coffee with just two milks, don't mention the word sugar. Especially in drive thru. The mic and speaker sometimes don't transfer the order correctly, and we only hear what was exactly ordered, but what was heard. You hear the word sugar, it goes in your coffee.
2. I CAN MAKE CHANGE. I can do math. I know that if you give me three dollars and your order is 2.74, you will get 26 cents back. Don't tell me what you are suppose to get back. I am not stupid.
