"Our drummer, Jerome Dillon, is really changing the sound." Those are the words that Trent Reznor used to describe to Rolling Stone about Nine Inch Nails newest member and drummer. Not only is NIN frontman Trent Reznor praising Jerome's style, but keyboardist Charlie Clouser has been quote to saying he enjoys Jerome "funky and groovy" sound that he brings to the band.
While Jerome is new to NIN fans, he was known for bringing a visually artistic side to his former band Howlin' Maggie. This visually artistic side is said to come from his education as an art student.
Jerome Dillon started his musical career as the drummer for a small band by the name of "Howlin' Maggie." After the breakup of the band for career reasons, he was notified of auditions for the industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails by his manager. After a series of detailed tryouts with the band, Jerome was signed on as Nine Inch Nails' drummer. He worked throughout the Summer of 1999 in Nine Inch Nails' New Orleans studio to help create the double disc album, "The Fragile." Released in September of 1999, "The Fragile" has recently been certified as Double Platinum based on record sales. Jerome's role in band has continued to grow as Nine Inch Nails has embarked on a small world tour that will come to the United States sometime in the Spring of 2000. |
