BABOON CALLS, 20" x 30", linocut with chine colle applied with Rhoplex Adhesive. Printed on the press on very heavy handmade paper from India? or so I was told. Name of paper unknown but its very thick. The brown chine colle pieces are also a handmade paper. Lots of paper I use for chine colle is sort of mystery paper, but this paper does have a name but I will have to look it up. Stay tuned...

I do a lot of renditions of apes and monkeys...although they are not present in the current gallery... at this time. The images of apes and monkeys reflects my intense commitment to animal rights, and especially to the rights of apes and monkeys not to be vivisected (live disection). I try to show the passion and intelligence in their beings through my woodcuts and linocuts. I am working on series of images with silkscreen representing the life force within other beings especially primates with symbols that are used in scientific equations that are associated with chemical equations associated with vivisection. This concept arises out of the time I worked for a publisher in the medical, science division and they were publishing lab protocols that had intensive vivisection. My commitment to the animals was stronger then my commitment to that job and I now work at a job that is more satisfactory, and I am not compromising my values.
