A History of Brown County, OH: "William Trout, in 1809, emigrated to the township, with his wife and one
child, John. He was born in Tennessee but learned the blacksmith trade in NC,
and there married Sarah, daughter of Christian Hoss ... in 1810 came Christian
Hoss and wife from Lincoln Co., NC. They were of German extraction ..."

Sold his NC land in 1811 and moved to OH.

A Christian Hass is listed with 2 Reg't (Mcgimpsy's) North Carolina Mil. War of 1812.

My biggest source of information on Sevier County, TN, Walker family andconnecting linages has been the book "Walker/King Who's Who andConnecting Families" compiled by Ina Alice Walker King.


John Walker was a soldier of the Revolutionary War .
On 20 Sept. 1789, he received two land grants for a total of 275 acres onMeadow Creek in Green Co TN. he lived and died there. His will mentionswife, Mary and sons John, Thomas, Anderson, and Daniel Walker andson-in-law Michel Blew. The widow lived seven years longer.

218. William MAGILL , Jr.

William Magill, Jr. lived his early life in Rockingham Co, VA, moving toGreene Co, TN in his middle years and settling in Meadow Creek. This iswhere he spent his remaining years. In his will, dated 19 July, 1806, heprovides a comfortable living for "My Dearly and Well Beloved Wife", JeanMagill. He lists household furnishings, cattle, a riding mare, and aNegro woman named Jude.
