DISCIPLINES
Disciplines are powers given to Vampires when they are embraced. As a rule given clans have given disciplines. (with the exception of Caitiff, Pander and at least one of the bloodlines)This, of course, is not a rule, just a guideline. Your storyteller will decide whether you have to stick to those guidelines or not.
Listed below you will most of the more common disciplines. (at a later date I will add in some of the lesser known, once I learn more about them) A basic description of that discipline will follow, just to give you a general idea of what it might be used for.
ANIMALISM - This discipline is utilized most often by the Gangrel clan. It deals with the ability to communicate with and sometimes even command animals, depending on the number of dots that the character has in it.
(Feral Whispers, Beckoning, Quell the Beast, Subsume the Spirit, Drawing Out the Beast)
AUSPEX - This discipline is found in a few of the clans. It allows the character to see things that are not visible to the naked eye. (ie.auras etc.)
(Heightened Senses, Aura Perception, The Spirit's Touch, Telepathy, Psychic Projection)
CELERITY - A strong Brujah trait, it allows the player to act faster than would the average Vampire.
(no levels you just get faster the more dots you have)
CHIMERSTRY - Ravnos are the owners of this discipline. It allows them to project illusions of many different natures upon unsuspecting victims.
(Ignis Fatuus, Fata Morgana, Apparition, Permanency, Horrid Reality)
DEMENTATION - A talent of the Sabbat Malkavian, this allows those who possess it to cast madness upon those around them.
(Passion, The Haunting, Eyes of Chaos, Voice of Madness, Total Insanity)
DOMINATE - The ability to shape an individuals' reality by changing their thoughts comes with this talent. It is practised by a few clans.
(Command, Mesmerize, The Forgetful Mind, Conditioning, Possession)
FORTITUDE - This allows its possessor to absorb extra damage. It is also the only defense against sunlight and fire.
(like Celerity no levels just increased power in discipline)
NECROMANCY - This, like Thaumaturgy, is an involved discipline, requiring studying to learn rituals that if successful are used to command the dead.
(The Sepulchre Path, The Bne Path, The Ash Path and numerous rituals)
OBFUSCATE - This ability allows the Vampires to disguise or conceal their true selves from others around them. If strong enough, Auspex can see through this.
(Cloak of Shadows, Unseen Presence, Mask of a Thousand Faces, Vanish from Mind's Eye, Cloak the Gathering)
OBTENEBRATION -This allows its user, generally a Lasombra, to use shadows or the darkness to create any number of things that are scary and go bump in the night.
(Shadow Play, Shroud of Night, Arms of the Abyss, Black Metamorphosis, Tenebrous Form)
POTENCE - An individual who possesses potence has added strength.
(same as Celerity and Fortitude above)
PRESENCE - The power of attraction...presence utilizes this to as an attack or a defense method. It also helpful in extracting information if you know how to use it.
(Awe, Dread Gaze, Entrancement, Summons, Majesty)
PROTEAN - This is the power of shapeshifting you so often see in the movies. From glowing eyes to claws to bats this talent is used most by Gangrels.
(Eyes of the Beast, Feral Claws, Earth Meld, Shape of the Beast, Mist Form)
QUIETUS - This blood based discipline is used by the Assamite clan to stalk and kill their targets and is known as the discipline of "silent death".
(Silence of Death, Scorpion's Touch, Dagon's Call, Baal's Caress, Taste of Death)
SERPENTIIS - A rather secret discipline, it is known only to the Followers of Set. All of its skills relate to the snake or serpent and are most effective as weapons as far as I have seen.

THAUMATURGY - This discipline is based on magic and rituals. There are a number of different Paths and rituals that the player may learn. A most cool discipline!
(The Path of Blood, The Lure of Flames, The Path of Conjuring, Movement of the Mind, Hands of Destruction as well as numerous rituals)
VICISSITUDE - Possessed by the Tzimisce clan this is a shapeshifting power. Unlike Protean it allows multiple forms of shapeshifting and with enough skill also allows the user to change others.
