Harvey is trying to make a 3 phase tesla coil system. That is what teh alternators are for, They supply 3 phases of electricity. 3 phase electricity is usually not available for household consuption, as the electric companies only offer this to large consumers. So to experiment with this idea I have to make the 3 phase electricity myself. This will mean three tesla coils passing the top discharge between them in a triangular fashion, although much work remains to be done for a test try. He is planning on using a multilayerd winds for the secondaries, another untraditonal approach. These were the 30 coils on the garage table (pictured above), 10 of which will be used for each tesla coil secondary that produces the discharge.
