THE MEANING OF THE POEM "SELAMAT TINGGAL ANAK-ANAKKU" GOOD-BYE MY CHILDREN BY USTAZ MD YUSOF DIMIN 1st stanza The father remembers that fateful day, many years ago, when he received the instruction from the Minsitry to go and serve at SMKAM. Even though the place was thousand of miles away, and even though he was already old and tired, the father gathered all his will to go to the new place and made it his personal agenda to give his best to the school for the sake of the children - the SMKAM students.2nd stanza Today, every day, the tired father trudges against all challenges and obstacles. Not willing to give up. Always encouraging his children and the teachers to continue to strive for success.3rd, 4th and 5th stanza The father gently urges his children to always work hard and to always believe in themselves. Even though he may no longer be there for them, the father has complete faith that his children will succeed in the end if they do not waver from the path nor lose their will to make something of their lives.6th stanza One day, in the future, when he is no longer there, and when the children are already successful in their lives, they would come to realize that all his scoldings and efforts many years ago were motivated by his deep love for them.7th and 8th stanza The father is leaving the school with a hope that wherever the students may be, they would always remember SMKAM and all the knowledge and values that they have learnt there. He can only pray to the almighty for their success, well-being and happiness. Finally, the father bids his farewell to the land, the school, the teachers and especially to his children - the SMKAM students. * There was so much love in his voice when he recited the poem that the whole school was touched.
