Notes on Eldon zLlewellyn:
Funeral service was held in the chapel of the Kaye Funeral Home, Peterborough
on April 1st, thence to Johnson Funeral Home, Murray River,
under whose direction service was held in Murray Harbour Presbyterian Church
c on April 4th and was conducted by Rev. Carl Currie brought message of resurrection,
comforting the bereaved and paid fitting tribute to Eldon.
Congregational hymns were " Nearer My God To Thee " and " Asleep In Jesus ".
"Good Night and Good Morning" was beautifully rendered by the Church choir,
organist was Mrs. Annie Kennedy.
Attending in a body were members of the 2nd. Medium Battery and of The Royal Canadian Legion. The Legion service at the graveside was conducted by Ernest Carver with Everett Buchanan and Ivan Peters as flagbearers, the Last Post and Reveille being sounded by George Boudreault. Internment took place in Murray Harbour North Cemetery. Pallbearers were Daniel Munn, Foch MacDonald, Albert MacLeod, Weir MacLure, William Dunn and James MacLure. Flowerbearers were nephews Brenton Jackson, Kenneth MacKillop, Dwight Llewellyn, Paul Llewellyn. Eldon died at work, Raybestos Manhatten Plant #1, in the nurse's office.
At the time, Eldon's co-workers did not realize the seriousness of his condition
and express regrets that they did not look in to check to see how he was.
